Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Jackson Purchase Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting. You’ll utilize the nursing process, collaborate with an interprofessional team, and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include medication administration, vital signs, documentation, and patient education. On-call duties may be assigned, and on-shift support across units is possible.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within six months of hire.
• One year of RN experience preferred.

How you'll contribute

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.

Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.

Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.

Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).

Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).

Assess learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.

Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.

Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
