Overview
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.
Facility: Kennestone Hospital
Shift: Full-time Days 7a-7p
Responsibilities
- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care. Coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Relationship-based patient-centered care: Provides care that reflects understanding of cultural diversity, adapting service delivery accordingly. Partners with patients and significant others, utilizing methods like bedside reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient education to keep the patient's goals central to the care plan.
- Practices using current clinical standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality care, promotes a respectful and inclusive environment, and practices in a manner that is fiscally responsible. Supports performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities.
- Professional Development and Initiative: Completes required competencies and education, serves as a preceptor or mentor, and fosters a healthy work environment.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes research and performance improvement, participates in data collection, and uses evidence to address practice questions.
- Resources and Support: Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum, develops protocols, and supports resource-efficient practices.
- Additional duties: Performs other duties as assigned, complies with policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Experience: Less than 1 year clinical hours; preferred experience in direct patient care.
- Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse license (single-state and multi-state compact), BLS, BLS Instructor, BLS Provisional.
