Overview
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.

Facility: Kennestone Hospital
Shift: Full-time Days 7a-7p

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and individualized care, coordinating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to population-specific characteristics, considering cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others through methods like bedside reports, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching, and goal-focused care planning.
  • Adhere to current clinical practice standards.
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality care promoting a respectful, inclusive environment, utilizing effective communication methods.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practicing responsibly and supporting staff recruitment and retention.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities to promote safe, high-quality care.
  • Complete required professional development, serve as preceptor/mentor, and uphold all policies, standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Support resource planning, protocol development, and efficient use of resources to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of clinical experience required; prior direct patient care preferred.
  • Current RN license (single state and multi-state compact) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; BLS instructor and provisional certifications preferred.
