The unit provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. It also manages pre- and post- catheterization patients and those experiencing acute stroke.
The RN is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion and evaluation.
