Sentara Healthcare Inc is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit in Williamsburg, Virginia. This full-time night shift position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for qualified candidates. The role involves providing specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, managing patient assessments, and implementing the nursing process.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or a diploma from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN or MSN preferred. New Grad RNs are also welcome to apply.
The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‑ and post‑catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
