The unit focuses on observation status with rapid patient turnover. Applicants must hold a DE RN or Compact license; BSN preferred, with 2+ years RN experience. BLS is required. The posted hourly pay range reflects market rates for this unit.

Job Details Registered Nurse (RN) - 1W Medical Observation Unit FT Night Shift (Hours: 7p -7a) Weekend & Holidays - per the department's guidelines. Wilmington, DE ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our newly renovated Medical Observation Unit.

Unit Information

3 Medical Observation Unit (3MOU) is an 8-bed unit dedicated to the care of adult medical patients admitted under observation status. Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to, ruling out stroke, syncope, and chest pain—conditions that require further evaluation and testing beyond the Emergency Department. As an observation-only unit, 3MOU offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment characterized by high patient turnover. The average length of stay typically falls between 12-32 hours. Patients who require inpatient care will be transitioned from 3MOU to the appropriate inpatient unit. Team members on 3MO will also have the opportunity to cross-train on 3 West, Wilmington Hospital’s 9-bed cardiac care unit. 3 West focuses on the care of short-stay patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, offering staff a diverse and enriching clinical experience.

Education & Experience Requirements

• DE RN license or Compact RN license.

Hourly Pay Range

$42.11 - $67.37 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
