Job summary

HSHS Medical Group's St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Admitting unit in Surgery. This part-time daytime role offers a supportive environment and meaningful patient interaction.

You will provide nursing care through the full patient-care process, collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and help achieve quality outcomes in line with state standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Wisconsin multi-state RN license may apply where indicated.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support to patients, friends, and families in the unit.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating on condition and self-care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to meet care objectives.
• Adhere to standards of care and state regulations to ensure quality outcomes.

Pay Range:

$34.00 - $51.00

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
• Wisconsin: RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
