Job summary

Norman Regional is hiring a Regular Full Time RN for various shifts in the Oklahoma Norman area. The role involves assessing health care needs, planning and implementing care, and coordinating with patients, families, and other health professionals.

The position emphasizes evidence-based practice, nursing diagnoses, evaluation of outcomes, and discharge planning within the Women’s & Children’s unit and maternal-child tower.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required during orientation.
  • ACLS required for LDR and OBED RNs; NRP required within 6 months of hire and maintained.
  • PALS required upon hire for Women's & Children's.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and reassess the health care needs of individuals across ages and conditions.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and outcomes with patient and family involvement.
  • Provide care and coordinate interventions guided by evidence-based practice, regulations, and policy.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking to recognize problems and reach sound conclusions.
  • Evaluate discharge needs related to the plan of care using available resources.
  • Engage in professional practice and uphold nursing standards.

  • $27.83-$45.46/hr depending on previous work experience.

Job Summary
  • Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
  • Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
  • Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
  • Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • Only LDR and OBED RNs are required to have ACLS
  • For the entire Maternal Child tower, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) is required within 6 months of hire and to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Nurses on Women's & Children's are required to have Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS) upon hire and maintained (same wording as the BLS and ALS should be)

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
