Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an RN Supervisor for a full-time 3-11 shift. The role directs daily nursing functions, oversees staff, and ensures high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include administrative duties, care planning, and collaboration with physicians, residents, and families. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to maintain standards and education across units.

Qualifications

• Current NY RN license in good standing.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to plan, organize and implement policies and procedures.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a RN supervisory position in a nursing home preferred.
• Evidence of basic leadership skills and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff in the long-term care facility.
• Complete administrative duties: reports, evaluations, charting, IV therapy, discharge planning, and incident reports; collaborate with physicians, residents/patients and families in planning care and rehab.
• Monitor nursing care to ensure residents are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect; set priorities to meet residents' needs.
• Ensure policies, dress codes, and ID badges are followed by all department personnel; ensure RNs, LPNs, and CNAs attend education events; assist in unit education.
• Collaborate with support departments to ensure positive admission/transfer experiences and smooth communication on status of new admissions and transfers.
• Make rounds to verify needs are met; monitor patient care, diet, activity; record and report changes; keep Unit Manager informed.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing reports, evaluations, charting, IV therapy, discharge planning and accidents/incident reports as necessary. Collaborate with physician(s), resident's/patient's and family in planning resident's/patient's care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc. as necessary.
• Monitor nursing care to assure that all residents are treated fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect. Sets priorities in meeting the needs of residents.
• Ensure that established policies and procedures, including dress codes and ID badges are followed by all department personnel. Ensure that RNs, LPNs, and CNAs attend scheduled education events. Assist in providing education on units as assigned.
• Collaborate with support departments on an on-going basis to ensure a positive new admission or transfer experience, such as, room readiness, medical information transfer, and resident/patient personal belongings. Ensure that communication occurs between shifts on status on new admissions and transfers.
• Make rounds of patients/residents to ensure needs are adequately met. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Keep Unit Manager/ Director informed of the status of residents and other related matters through written/oral reports.
