Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site nursing care to students in elementary or middle school buildings
• Administer medications
• Monitor and manage in-school medical care for students with chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes, seizures, cerebral palsy) or temporary medical needs
• Triage, treat, provide interim urgent care to injured or ill students

Requirements

• Current unrestricted RN license in Illinois.
• Recent physical (1 year or less) and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience preferred.
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance.
• This is not a desk job. Successful nurses will be on school premises interacting with students of varying ages. Nurses must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull without restrictions.
