Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department in Corbin, KY is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time 1st shift in a Level IV trauma designated ED with 28 beds, providing around-the-clock care across all ages.

The RN will perform assessments, treatments, care coordination, patient and family education, and support admissions, transfers and discharges with ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required; Kentucky RN licensure and a nursing degree are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic life support — applicants must obtain certification within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, assessments and treatments.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges; ensure patient and family education.

The department treats a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting mental health and behavioral health concerns.
