Job summary

Journey is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Calhoun, GA. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while delivering high-quality, compassionate service on the 3p to 11p shift.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of nursing staff in accordance with regulations and facility policies.
• Follow the nursing model to promote holistic resident care.
• Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed by staff.
• Assist in admissions, discharges and transfers of residents as required.
• Assess changes in residents’ status and communicate with physicians and families accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders and carry out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
