Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, offers a Magnet-designated Nurse Residency Program designed for recent nursing graduates. You’ll join a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional patient care as you transition from student to professional nurse.

This year-long program provides clinical foundation and mentorship to build confidence and competence in a culture of quality and safety, with support from preceptors and educators on a 34-bed Medical/Surgical Unit.

Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months of nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire or another Compact State.
• BCLS certification within 30 days for select nursing positions.

Unit Overview

Join our 34-bed Medical/Surgical Unit, providing care to medical, surgical, and telemetry patients. The average length of stay is 3 to 4 days, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1 on days and typically 6:1 on nights.

This fast-paced environment offers the opportunity to develop strong clinical skills while working alongside experienced nurses, educators, preceptors, and leaders dedicated to your success.

What to Expect

The Nurse Residency Program begins with Corporate Orientation and Nursing & Clinical Orientation and continues through successful completion of required courses, competencies, and at least 50% of elective coursework (approximately 8 months).
