Registered Nurse - Surgical ICU (Full Time Nights)

Unit Specializes in: Our 20-bed surgical intensive care unit cares for patients with complex surgical diagnoses, including post-cardiac catheterization, open heart surgery, and other procedures requiring continuous monitoring or lifesaving interventions. Our nurses are trained in caring for patients with balloon pumps and Impella devices. RN utilize the hypothermic protocol in post-arrest patients. Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) RN is part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for nursing care completion. The RN manages patient activities, applying independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, teaching, and supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Establishing collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
• Delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care
• Monitoring patient progress and preparing for discharge
• Reporting to senior management and participating in shared decision-making
