Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring quality nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members including ancillary and support services. The RN’s role involves leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
• Report directly to senior management and participate in shared decision-making activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
