Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a qualified RN to join the Recovery Room/PACU on the Main Campus. In this role you will care for pediatric through adult patients in the immediate post-operative period, maintaining airway, monitoring hemodynamics, and ensuring safe sedation and pain control.

You will collaborate with OR/ED/inpatient staff, anesthesia, surgeons, and radiology to support up to 40-50 cases daily in a 26-bed bay setup, with rotating shifts and a call requirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

• Monitor sedation, neurological, neuromuscular, and sensory motor status.
• Provision of adequate pain and comfort measures.
• Assess wound/incision integrity.

Primary Patient Population

• Pediatric through Adult
• Immediate post‑operative period

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• 40-50 surgical cases daily
