Job summary

St. Luke's Health System is seeking a Radiation Oncology Triage RN in Boise for a 0.9 FTE day-shift role. You will triage calls, assess patients of all ages undergoing treatment, and promote a compassionate patient experience while integrating clinical skills in a dynamic outpatient setting.

Qualified candidates have a nursing degree, at least 1 year of RN experience, and current RN licensure with BLS. Oncology experience and OCN certification are a plus, with a magnet-designated program

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing degree.
• Experience: One (1) + years’ RN experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Preferred: Radiation Oncology/Oncology experience, OCN certification and/or strong assessment skills

Responsibilities

• Triage calls and assess patients undergoing treatment in Radiation Oncology.
• Promote a positive patient experience with compassion and kindness.
• Assist in monitoring and caring for CT simulation and radiation procedure patients.
• Cross train to Radiation Oncology primary nursing.

Today we are a network of five cancer centers dedicated to state-of-the-art treatment close to home; patient-centered care and support; cutting-edge research; and community prevention, education, and early detection initiatives. St. Luke's holds a Commission on Cancer (CoC) cancer program accreditation - this is a quality program of the American College of Surgeons which demonstrates a cancer program’s commitment to providing high-quality, multidisciplinary, patient-centered cancer care.

What You Can Expect:

• Full-time (0.9 FTE): day shift – no nights or weekends!
• Schedule: 4 days a week x 9-hour shifts
• Certification pay available (ex. OCN)
• Radiation Oncology Triage RN: utilize strong critical thinking and assessment skills to triage calls and evaluate patients of all ages undergoing treatment
• Promote a positive patient experience with compassion and kindness while integrating technical skills, scientific knowledge, and a caring attitude both in the clinic and through the triage process to aid those living with cancer and their families
• Cross train to Radiation Oncology primary nursing
• Assist in monitoring and caring for CT simulation and radiation procedure patients
