Job summary

Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care/Stepdown unit. The role focuses on close monitoring and specialized nursing for medically complex patients.

This 10-bed unit offers night shifts 7pm–7am and the opportunity to work within HCA Healthcare’s network, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • RN (Registered Nurse) credential required
  • No travel required
  • 6+ months registered nursing experience

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider, and document care in the medical record; administer medications.
  • Provide prompt, compassionate care and respond to patient requests while anticipating needs and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps in clear, understandable terms.

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care

As a Registered Nurse in our 10‑bed Progressive Care/ Stepdown Unit, you will provide specialized care to patients who require close monitoring and a higher level of care. This role offers the opportunity to care for medically complex patients and utilize strong clinical judgement in a patient‑centered environment.

Night Shift available: 7pm - 7am

Job Summary & Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
  • No Travel Required
  • 6+ months registered nursing experience
