Job summary

Jobtailor in Texas is seeking a registered nurse to lead and coordinate patient care on the nursing unit. You will use the nursing process to plan, deliver, and supervise care, while participating in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.

This role requires an active RN license, BLS certification, and ACLS certification (preferred after 90 days). In ICU or high-acuity areas ACLS starts day 1. You may perform Charge Nurse duties and will educate patients and families upon discharge.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or current transitioning state.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred initially and required after 90 days.
• ACLS required from day 1 for Charge Nurses, High-Obst and ICU.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization.
• Access community resources as needed.

• Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing, and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning
• Conduct discharge planning
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization
• Access community resources
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
• May perform Charge Nurse duties

Requirements

• RN License in the state you are applying
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment
• ACLS is required from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments preferred
• Comfort working with vents, trachs, PICC lines, etc. preferred
• Two years of experience in direct patient care preferred
