Job summary

Amedisys, one of the largest home health and hospice providers in the United States, is seeking an RN for per diem/weekend coverage. You will coordinate and oversee home care, collaborate with care teams, and educate families to promote healing at home.

The role requires an RN license in the state of assignment, CPR certification, and at least six months of home health experience. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head-to-toe physical assessments and vitals checks.
• Administers injections, IV therapy or tube feedings as needed.
• Administers and maintains catheters as required.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs and communicates progress to care team.

• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
• Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
