Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide home health care across assigned patients. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care in the home setting, coordination with care teams, and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical RN experience; less than 1 year requires VP approval.
• Active RN license for the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and needs by age group.
• Familiar with basic computer use and online HR/training systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Perform head to toe physical assessments.
• Check vital signs and manage medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administer and maintain catheters.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.


• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.


• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
