Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Frisco, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse (Preop/Postop) to coordinate quality nursing care in a pediatric ambulatory setting.

You will support family-centered, child-focused care, using the nursing process with strong teamwork across departments. ADN is required; RN license in Texas with 2+ years pediatric experience is necessary. Monday–Friday, three 10-hour day shifts, with opportunity for full- or part-time status.

Qualifications

  • Nursing degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license or eligible for temporary permit.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience; pediatric experience required.
  • American Heart Association BLS and PALS certification.
  • EPIC EMR experience and Windows OS competency required.
  • Full-time or part-time status acceptable.
  • Annual documentation to obtain/maintain RN III status per NPDAP.

Job Description:
  • Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
  • Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
  • Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
  • Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator
  • Participate in departmental and/or hospital wide committees or task forces
  • Participate in and support departmental and organizational change and provides suggestions
  • Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • 2 or more years nursing experience required
  • Pediatric experience required
  • American Heart Association BLS PALS certification
  • Competent in Windows OS and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) EPIC experience required
  • Full time or part time status required
  • Must submit proof of meeting the requirements as outlined in the Nursing Professional Development Advancement Program document annually to obtain and maintain RN III status
