Job summary

Regions is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the perioperative team in Saint Paul, MN. The role involves preoperative assessments, admission to the perioperative area, and post-procedure monitoring in collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams. Strong ICU experience is preferred.

Shifts are 10 hours, 0.75 FTE, with evenings/nights and on-call requirements, including one night holiday per year. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental insurance, 401(k) with match, disability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Two (2) years of progressive care nursing experience in an acute hospital setting are required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota.
• BLS Certification on hire; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• ICU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver.
• Admits patient to the perioperative area, assesses patient and prepares for surgery/planned procedure.
• Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders.
• Works with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia.
• Communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for post-operative care after discharge.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Minnesota RN license

ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months

BLS certification

Job description

Under the direction of the Director, Department Manager, and supervisor the RN will assess, perform, document and evaluate professional independent nursing practice and perform related duties below:

• Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver
• Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery/planned procedure
• Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders
• Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia
• Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge
• Other duties as assigned

Work schedule:

• 0.75 FTE (30 hours per pay period)
• Evening/Night Shift
• 10 hour shifts
• Shift time 1500-0130
• Every 4th weekend on-call
• 1 night holiday a year

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Two (2) years of progressive care nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
• BLS Certification upon hire
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
• ICU experience STRONGLY preferred
