Job summary

Frederick Surgical Center, LLC is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to guide patients through every stage of their surgical journey in our outpatient setting. This role emphasizes hands-on nursing care, critical thinking, and compassionate support, with a healthy work-life balance and no nights, weekends, or on-call stress.

You will monitor recovery from anesthesia, obtain histories, document assessments, administer medications safely, and collaborate with physicians, families, and the care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of employment (Maryland).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 2+ PACU, pre-op, or perioperative experience preferred.
• PALS and/or CNOR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients.
• Monitor patients recovering from general, regional, or local anesthesia.
• Obtain and document complete nursing histories and assessments.
• Closely monitor vital signs and patient status, identifying and reporting any changes.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and care team members.
• Supervise and support non-licensed clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
• Support a teamwork-based environment with opportunities for cross-training.
• Follow all nursing standards, state regulations, and center policies.
