Job summary

Toledo Clinic seeks a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op/PACU to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care for patients before and after surgery in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will work under the Director of Nursing and collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure safety and quality of care.

The role requires an active nursing license, a relevant degree, and strong communication, aseptic technique, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Associates, Bachelors or diploma in Nursing with active state licensure.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Preop/PACU experience preferred.
• Strong IV insertion, airway management and rapid post-anesthetic assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care based on patient data and planned procedures.
• Assists physician by preparing, monitoring, educating, or recovering the patient in OPS.
• Assists anesthesiologist to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
• Maintains nursing process documentation for operative patients.
• Evaluates changes in procedure and updates physician preference cards.
• Other duties as assigned

General Summary:

Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating and providing comprehensive care to patients before and after surgical procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing

Example of Essential Duties:

• Develops a plan of care based on patient health care data, procedure to be performed, and expected patient outcomes.
• Assists the physician by preparing, monitoring, educating, or recovering the patient in OPS.
• Assists anesthesiologist to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
• Maintains documentation of nursing process for the care of the operative patient.
• Evaluates changes in procedure and updates physician preference cards.
• Other duties as assigned

Required:
