Job summary

United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre-op/PACU to deliver patient-family centered perioperative care. The RN will follow nursing process and hospital policies, reporting to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services. No on-call duties are required.

Prior Preop/PACU or Cath Lab experience is preferred, with at least 2 years in a hospital setting. Ideal candidates will have a Texas RN license, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and certifications such as BSN,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN Nursing License.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Previous Pre-OP/PACU or Cath Lab experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• BSN, CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
• Strong customer service skills.
• Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change.
• Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.

The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations.
