Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Post-Surgical Unit for a full-time night shift. The RN plans, directs, coordinates, and implements nursing care for post-surgical patients, ensuring high-quality and safe care in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS (ACLS preferred), and strong nursing judgment and communication skills. Prior experience in medical/surgical or ICU units is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• 1-2 years’ experience as an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit preferred.
• RN, current in the State of Texas.
• BLS required, ACLS preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with standards of care.
• Ensure the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards, The Joint Commission, and Federal and State requirements.
• Respond to patients presenting to the facility with a healthcare need and perform Medical Screening Exams as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Uptown is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Surgical Unit (PSU) Department for a full time opportunity on nights. The RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. He/she ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care. This position is assigned to respond to patients presenting to facility with a healthcare need and will provide the Medical Screening Exam as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.
