Job summary

Jobtailor in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a seasoned Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engage patients and families, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives.

This role requires a Board of Nursing approved program graduate, BLS, an active RN license, and about 2 years of clinical experience. You should communicate effectively, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain accurate EHR

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in clinical nursing.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in computer functions, including email, electronic records, and digital platforms.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds and perform physical safety interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Engage patients and families throughout the continuum of care
  • Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team
  • Uphold and promote a culture of safety
  • Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take action as needed
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, conflict resolution, team collaboration, and delegation
  • Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications
  • Practice ethical decision-making in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics
  • Delegate appropriately to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation
  • Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care based on growth and development principles

Requirements
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in clinical nursing
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in computer functions, including email, electronic records, and digital platforms
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
  • Ability to lift and support 35 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a 150-pound sliding transfer with a second person
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures
  • Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
  • Ability to perform physical safety interventions and verbal de-escalation if needed
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required
