Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide direct care to a pediatric population and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal health outcomes.

The role is per diem with daytime shifts in Hackensack, NJ, offering a competitive pay rate of $48 per hour and opportunities to develop clinical skills through the organization’s Nurse Residency pathway.

Qualifications

• BSN in progress or willing to acquire within 3 years of hire.
• Six months of nursing experience or completion of Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency Program.
• Current NJ State Professional RN License required.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Implement age and disease-specific care in an organized manner.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and document events accurately.

Requirements

Education:

• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience OR participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required
• BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
