Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health’s Pediatric ICU role in Neptune, NJ, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, offers a per diem night shift focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care within a collaborative team.

The RN will monitor patient status, administer medications with advanced bar-scanning technology, document care electronically, educate families, and participate in safe discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions.

Qualifications

• BSN in progress or willing to obtain within three years.
• 1-2 years of PICU nursing experience.
• Current NJ Nursing license required.
• BLS/CPR, PALS, IV/Port/Telemetry certifications required; ACLS preferred; APHON preferred; national cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care according to evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Communicate ongoing patient status and care plans with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions and evaluations electronically.
• Provide patient and family-centered education for health optimization.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary discharges to ensure safe transitions of care.

Requirements

Education:

• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• 1-2 years of pediatric ICU nursing experience

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
• PALS required
• IV/port/telemetry certification required
• ACLS preferred
• APHON certification preferred
• National certification in specialty desired
