Job summary

Incredible Health in Temple, TX is hiring a Registered Nurse - Pediatric PACU to provide immediate post-operative care for pediatric patients and collaborate with surgical teams for smooth transitions from the operating room to PACU and home. The role requires pediatric PACU/ICU experience and active RN licensure.

The ideal candidate will have ADN or higher nursing degree, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications (preferred), and excellent communication skills for families and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

• ADN or higher nursing degree required.
• Active, unencumbered RN license required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred.
• 1+ year pediatrics and PACU/ICU experience preferred.
• Experience with pediatric equipment and procedures.
• Excellent communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care to pediatric surgical patients.
• Monitor vital signs and manage anesthesia-related symptoms.
• Administer prescribed medications and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and teams for smooth transition from OR to PACU to discharge home.
• Educate families on post-operative care, wound care, and potential complications.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies.

Nurses with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Cardiac Monitoring, Circulate, Pediatric, Presurgical assessment, Robotic surgery, Transplant, or Wound & drain care.

Qualifications

• ADN or higher degree in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certification preferred
• 1+ years of experience in pediatrics as well as a PACU, ICU, or similar high-acuity setting preferred
• Experience with pediatric medical equipment and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of healthcare professionals, children, and families

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care to pediatric surgical patients, monitoring vital signs, and managing symptoms of anesthesia
• Administer prescribed medications and implement treatment plans as directed by medical staff
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transition from the operating room to the PACU to discharge home
• Educate young patients and their families on post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and potential complications
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
