Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join a Level I trauma center team. You will provide perioperative nursing care in complex cases, including general surgery, urology, ENT, plastics, and neurosurgery, with emphasis on scrub roles and patient safety.

We require at least 2 years of OR experience, current BLS, and certified scrub expertise. Travel nurses are excluded for first-time travelers; Indiana-based restrictions may apply after Nov 30, 2024, with exceptions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience.
• BLS certification is required and must be current.
• Scrub experience is mandatory.
• First-time travelers will not be considered.
• Level I trauma center experience is preferred.
• Licenses and certifications must be current and available upon application.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for a range of surgical specialties.
• Assist with scrubbing and circulating duties.
• Support neonatal to adult patients across multiple specialties including ENT, Urology, Plastics, General Surgery and Neurosurgery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Level I trauma center.
• Operate or assist with advanced equipment such as DaVinci, Stealth and ROSA.

Operating Room Nurse Position

Experience and Certification Requirements

• General operating room experience is acceptable.
• Licenses and certifications must be current and available upon application.
• Candidates applying for the first time as travelers will not be considered.
• Required certification: BLS.
• Scrub experience is mandatory.
• Experience in a Level I trauma center is preferred.

Shift Information

• Four 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Five 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Skills and Surgical Experience

Preferred experience in trauma care at a Level I trauma center.

Required surgical case experience includes:

• General Surgery
• Urology
• Endoscopy/Laparoscopic procedures
• Plastic Surgery
• ENT

Neurosurgery experience is required; adult neurosurgery experience is acceptable.

Experience and Unit Details

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
• The unit operates as a Level I trauma center with specialties in ENT, Urology, Plastics, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Neurosurgery.
• Surgical procedures range from minor to highly complex cases, including ECMO, burn care, tumor resections, and trauma surgeries.
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and some adults.
• Equipment utilized includes Stealth, DaVinci, and ROSA systems.

Additional Information

• Effective November 30, 2024, certain restrictions will apply to nurses licensed in Indiana working at this facility.
• Perioperative/OR nurses, allied health professionals, and ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from these restrictions and may continue working beyond this date.
• Perioperative roles include Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, and SDS.
• Local travelers permanently residing in Indiana will be offered rates below the current bill rate.
