Job summary

CentralCare Incorporated is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role requires a valid RN license in the United States and a minimum of one year of PICU experience on a rotating 24/7 schedule.

The position is full-time, civilian contractor work through CentralCare Incorporated. Candidates must have BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications and graduate from ACEN/CCNE-accredited programs. Onbase schedule details vary.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced CPR and administer critical medications based on weight.
  • Administer ventilatory support and oxygen therapy.
  • Assist physicians with cardioversion, central line placement and intubation.
  • Operate and monitor hemodynamic devices and ventilators.
  • Provide patient/family teaching on medications, health maintenance and illness prevention.
  • Assess and respond to changes in critically ill pediatric patients.

DESCRIPTION

We’re Hiring: Registered Nurse- Pediatric Intensive Care - PICU

Location: TRIPLER ARMY MEDICAL CENTER HONOLULU, HAWAII
Full-Time |
Civilian Contractor Role via CentralCare Incorporated

Schedule: 24 hours/7 days a week unit; 8/10/12 hour shifts, rotating day/night shifts (schedule/hours vary) Onbase

Required Qualification:
  • Degree/Education: Associates Degree of Nursing (or higher). Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN),the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Equivalency Determination Request: The Contractor may not request an equivalency determination as a substitute for education requirements on this labor category.
  • Experience: All RNs shall have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the last two (2) years after graduation, working as an RN unless annotated for specific areas.
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse from any state or territory in the United States.
  • Certifications: Must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Job Responsibilities:
  • Able to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mixing and administering special, potent and potentially lethal drugs (i.e. Atropine, dopamine, dobutamine) based on weight.
  • Perform various pulmonary ventilation treatments such as administration of oxygen through various invasive and noninvasive means.
  • Assist physician with complex and potentially life-threatening procedures as cardioversion, insertion of central lines and intubation.
  • Operate and monitor highly complex technical equipment such as hemodynamic monitoring devices, ventilators, oxygen monitors etc.
  • Provide patient and family teaching and counseling to possible reactions to medications, health maintenance and illness prevention.
  • Manage nursing care of the patient on multiple medications and technical equipment, complete thorough assessments and determine abnormalities, make decisions and take corrective action immediately.
  • Possesses the knowledge of a wide range of nursing care principles, practices and procedures required to perform highly specialized nursing assignments to assess the needs of the critically ill infant, child, adolescent and teenage patient.
  • May be required to work in the Pediatric Ward, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or Mother Baby Unit (infants only) or serve as a Patient Safety Attendant for Pediatric or Adult patients.
