Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center, a 300+ bed hospital in El Paso, TX, is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead the Pediatric ICU team. Under supervision, you will coordinate unit functions, assess care plans, and delegate tasks to RN staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications include ACLS/BCLS within set timelines, PALS within 6 months, RN licensure with an associate or bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of one year of experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date (RN).
• RN licensure is required.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing care in accordance with Las Palmas Medical Center policies.
• Coordinate and supervise unit functions during assigned shifts.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and delegate care plans in collaboration with the health team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designee the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date (RN)
• Registered Nurse
