Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking PCU RNs for per diem positions in Virginia. Shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a are available, giving you the freedom to choose when you work and how often.

You’ll assess and monitor patients, administer medications, and collaborate with care teams. A Virginia RN license and BLS/ACLS are required, along with recent PCU experience and vaccinations or approved exemptions.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience in the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current AHA BLS
• Current AHA ACLS
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment
