Job summary

Applicants must hold an Ohio RN license; BLS is required, ACLS within 6 months for certain units, and BSN within 5 years of hire is preferred. We offer professional development and a supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• RN must hold Ohio nursing license and BLS certification before patient contact.
• ACLS required within 6 months for step-down/ICU areas.
• BSN within 5 years of hire for most hires after Jan 2010.

Responsibilities

• Understanding signs and data related to patient needs and potential nursing diagnoses.
• Report abnormal data and changes to physician and charge RN.
• Use handoff methods to communicate data with the health team.
• Assess patient, family, and environment for safety risks.
• Prepare, coordinate, and revise multidisciplinary care plans with measurable goals.
• Communicate plan of care using SBAR with all team members.
• Set care priorities and participate in care conferences.
• Initiate discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Perform and delegate nursing actions based on orders with accountability.
• Provide ongoing patient and family education in collaboration with the team.
• Respond to emergencies with precision and prompt action.
• Follow infection control measures to prevent contamination and maintain safety.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and adjust the plan as needed.
• Maintain continuity of care during handoffs and transfers.
• Document care plans and updates in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate leadership, mentor peers, and pursue professional development.
• Engage in activities to improve competencies and participate in professional organizations.
