Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Level II Competent Registered Nurse dedicated to delivering patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The RN will apply nursing process and evidence-based practice to support quality outcomes in the designated unit.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, discharging planning, policy adherence, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• RN license from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred/required depending on position.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family, and health team members in patient care.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with health team members.
• Assist leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff (permanent and temporary).
• Act as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Engage in daily operational activities for safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policy development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
