Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Registered Nurse to apply specialized nursing knowledge across departments, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support patients, families, and staff. The RN will supervise members, mentor students, and ensure safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and contributing to discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with active license.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• RN with strong clinical assessment and planning skills.
• Experience collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to provide patient and family support.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient assessments, plans care, and oversees implementation.
• Performs nursing acts per board standards and organizational guidelines.
• Cares for patients, teaches and promotes health using Teach Back.
• Administers medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Supervises and mentors staff and students.
• Communicates with management and participates in performance improvement.
• Ensures safety for patients and staff, and participates in discharge planning.
• Advocates for patients and documents findings in medical records.
• Provides daily living assistance as part of the care team.
