Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to provide nursing services under supervision in patient care settings. The role emphasizes adherence to the medical plan, accurate documentation, patient education, and coordination of care across the clinical team.

The successful candidate will hold an ADN (Bachelor’s preferred), possess RN licensure in Texas, and demonstrate strong communication and clinical judgment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with an ADN.
• Experience: Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements.
• Licenses: RN licensure in Texas; BLS from AHA/ARC.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing interventions per care plan.
• Schedule tests and procedures; reinforce physician instructions.
• Provide patient education and document responses.
• Obtain necessary consents for care/research.
• Triage patient inquiries and document in medical records.
• Supervise LVNs and other staff as needed.
• Maintain competency in EMR documentation.
• May participate in policy/procedural changes.
