Job summary

Rediscover is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Program in the Kansas City area. The role supports immediate, same-day access to psychiatric care and medication management for clients with mental health or substance use needs.

Responsibilities include intake assessments, clinical evaluations, and collaborative care planning with a multidisciplinary team. Part-time schedule involves two 12-hour shifts weekly, with some on-call or weekend coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years of clinical mental health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Kansas City metro community resources and relevant health services.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial assessment/history on all clients entering treatment.
• Strategically use assessment information to inform clinical evaluation and referrals.
• Educate clients and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.
• Provide a trauma-informed welcoming approach to all clients and visitors.
• Document interactions in the EMR and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address wellness and care coordination.

Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.What You'll DoComplete initial assessment/history on all clients entering treatment.Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner. This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.Requirements of the PositionGraduation from an accredited nursing program.Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (or the ability to practice as an RN in the state of Missouri).At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision in a mental health setting preferred.Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred.Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.Schedule RequirementsPart-Time position, consisting of (2) 12-hour shifts each week for 24 hours a week.Urgent Care operates seven (7) days per week and is open 24 hours a day; candidates must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed.Grow With UsWe’re committed to your professional development and will support your growth as a Registered Nurse through training, collaboration, and meaningful work.Ready to join a team that’s passionate about people?
