Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the ICU Stepdown team at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with day or night shifts, focusing on intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing education (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN) and Missouri RN licensure. Join a compassionate, mission-driven team that emphasizes evidence-based care, collaboration, and professional growth.

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown-related certifications.
