Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home invites you to join our team as a part-time Registered Nurse, delivering compassionate care to our state's veterans. You will support admission and discharge processes, administer medications, document care in the EMR, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Missouri in good standing.
• Recent graduate may practice as graduate nurse until licensure results are received or 90 days after graduation, as allowed by MO Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on the assigned shift.
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plans according to healthcare protocol.
• Round with the physician and communicate patient status and care instructions.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in EMR.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed with follow-up observations.
• Assist veterans with transfers, positioning, transportation, feeding, elimination, bathing, and other daily needs.
• Assist veterans upon admission and/or discharge.

Hourly Pay

Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour

Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour

Pay commensurate with experience

Examples Of Work

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri – in good standing, or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
