Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our dedicated nursing team. You will provide individualized care to our veterans, document needs and observations, and support activities of daily living in line with care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide veteran care and support according to the individualized care plan.
• Communicate and document information to nursing staff regarding Veterans’ needs and observations.
• Attend to grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, skin care, transfers and other care duties as required.
• Accurately perform and document vitals, heights, and weights.
• Walk, stand, and lift as needed to provide quality care.
• Work overtime as needed.

Hourly Pay

• $18.35 - $18.69 day shift
• $20.35 - $20.69 evening and night shift
• Additional weekend shift differential available

Examples of Work

• Provide excellent Veteran care and support according to the individualized care plan.
• Communicate and document specific information to nursing staff regarding information and observations of the Veterans’ needs, preferences and/or complaints voiced by Veteran/family.
• Attend to individual needs of Veterans which may include but is not limited to assistance with grooming, bathing/showering, oral hygiene, delivery and set up of food trays, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, repositioning, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, skin care, or other needs in keeping with the individual’s care requirements.
• Accurately perform and document vitals, heights, and weights.
• Walk and stand extensively as well as stoop, bend, and lift to provide quality care to Veterans.
• Work overtime as needed.
