The successful candidate:

• Provides individualized, relationship-based care to geriatric and adult patients and their families.
• Develops individualized care plans using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Guides nursing practice independently and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Inspires clinical excellence through effective delegation and independent judgment.
• Uses effective communication to foster a caring and healing environment, with the patient and family at the center.
• Addresses physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, coordinating care with healthcare team members.
• Assesses, evaluates, implements, documents, and monitors pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Supervises care delivered by licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Assists physicians with procedures.
• Prioritizes care for all surgical patients.
• Works M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with call responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 1-2 years of acute care experience.
• Graduate of an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited nursing program and licensed in the practice state.
• Maintains BLS certification.
• Obtains OCN certification within 18 months of hire or completes 36 CE credits in Oncology every 3 years, with at least 12 CE credits annually.
• Obtains ACLS certification by end of orientation and maintains it.
• Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and responds appropriately (Telemetry experience).
• Able to respond to the hospital within 60 minutes.
