Job summary

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Santa Fe, NM. This full-time role covers Holding/Pre-Op and/or PACU, with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call.

You’ll work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other Surgery Center professionals to provide safe, efficient, compassionate care throughout the surgical experience. ACLS/BLS are required, and PACU/Pre-Op or critical care experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • 3 years of PACU/Pre-Op experience in a hospital or day surgery setting.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and ensure required clinical information and documentation are complete.
  • Coordinate care with patients, families, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the healthcare team.
  • Assess and monitor patients before and after surgical procedures.
  • Recover patients following general, MAC, local, regional block, and topical anesthesia.
  • Monitor hemodynamic stability and recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies, including respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, and arrhythmias.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and their families.
  • Serve as a patient advocate while promoting safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
  • Help maintain an efficient, prepared, and team-oriented Surgery Center.

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in the Holding/Pre-Op and/or PACU area.

You’ll work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other Surgery Center professionals to provide safe, efficient, compassionate care throughout the surgical experience. This position is responsible for direct nursing care before and after surgery, with an emphasis on patient safety, clinical excellence, and positive surgical outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • At least 3 years of experience in PACU and/or a Holding/Pre-Op setting in a hospital or day surgery facility
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred:

  • For PACU nurses, 3+ years of critical care experience is preferred.
