Job summary

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our ambulatory eye surgery center in Albuquerque. In this role, you will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and a skilled surgical team to deliver safe, efficient care for ophthalmic procedures.

Minimum 3 years OR or day surgery experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong teamwork and communication skills are required for this full-time position.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in an operating room or day surgery facility.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical patient care and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to respond confidently and competently during emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs and responses.
  • Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Prepare and assess patients for surgery according to surgery center standards and policies.
  • Perform circulating and/or scrubbing duties as needed.
  • Apply principles of surgical asepsis and follow standards (AORN, AAMI, OSHA, and Surgery Center).
  • Assist anesthesia providers during induction and emergence from anesthesia.
  • Monitor patients for physiological changes and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Safely identify, label, administer, and document medications and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient-care documentation.
  • Help maintain efficient OR flow, minimize delays, and support timely room turnover.
  • Maintain patient safety and serve as a patient advocate.
  • Ensure operating rooms are appropriately stocked and equipment and sterile supplies are properly maintained.
  • Support the orientation of new team members and serve as a clinical resource.
  • Take on charge or relief-charge responsibilities when needed.

Albuquerque Ambulatory Eye Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team in Albuquerque.

In this role, you'll work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and an experienced surgical team to provide safe, efficient, high-quality care to patients undergoing ophthalmic and related surgical procedures.

What You’ll Do

As an Operating Room RN, you'll play an important role throughout the surgical experience. Responsibilities include:
