Job summary

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join the Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Santa Fe, NM. You will assist patients with the administrative side of their surgical experience, from check-in to coordinating records and payments.

You will work closely with patients, families, and our nursing, scheduling, billing, and physician teams to ensure a smooth process and positive patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and pay close attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with computers and learning healthcare systems.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Approximately 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in patients on the day of surgery.
  • Serve as a helpful point of contact for patients and families.
  • Verify patient demographics and assist with collection of patient payments/co-pays.
  • Work with Billing on insurance verification and payment information.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming surgeries.
  • Maintain scheduling information and assist with same-day/add-on cases.
  • Process and post payments and assist with daily balancing and deposits.
  • Maintain and retrieve medical records, dictations, and pathology documentation.
  • Answer phones and communicate with patients, physicians, offices, and team members.
  • Help keep information accurate, organized, and moving efficiently throughout the center.

Eye Associates of New Mexico is seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Santa Fe. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with patients, staying organized in a busy environment, and being an important part of a collaborative healthcare team.

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you'll help patients navigate the administrative side of their surgical experience—from check-in and answering questions to preparing patient charts, coordinating records, and assisting with insurance and payment information. You'll work closely with patients and families as well as our nursing, scheduling, billing, and physician teams.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Welcome and check in patients on the day of surgery
  • Serve as a helpful point of contact for patients and their families
