Job summary

Surgery Partners Brand is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the PACU team, delivering nursing care in the immediate postoperative period and coordinating with surgeons, physicians, and anesthesia teams. Documentation and patient status communication are essential in PACU care for various procedures.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure in the state, CPR and ACLS certs, PALS within 90 days, and 1+ year PACU or 2+ years related nursing experience, with benefits including a 401(k)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Has a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State.
• Current CPR certification and current ACLS certification required; PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum one year post anesthesia care unit or min two years of experience in outpatient surgery, Medical/Surgical, ED, or ICU nursing.

Responsibilities

• RN PACU provides nursing care in the immediate postoperative/post anesthesia period, assessing and documenting patient status in PACU.
• Oversees and guides staff under supervision and communicates with surgeon, physician and anesthesia providers.
• Care is tailored to anesthesia type and procedure (ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedic or pain management); handles both pediatric and adult patients.

Registered Nurse - PACU (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Registered Nurse is a professional who provides patient care based upon the nursing process; being effectively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse shall oversee and guide employees that are under his/her supervision. RN PACU Performs nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post anesthesia period, assessing, communicating patient status with the surgeon, physician and anesthesia providers and documenting care given in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU). Nursing care is specific based on the type of anesthesia administered (general anesthesia or monitored anesthesia) and the procedure or surgery performed (ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedic or pain management). Pediatric and adult patients.
