Job summary

Center for Specialized Surgery - Bethlehem is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for PACU, providing post-anesthesia care and patient monitoring in a high-quality clinical setting. The RN will oversee and guide staff, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and document patient status in the PACU.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in the state, and current CPR/ACLS; PALS is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State.
• Current CPR certification and current ACLS certification required; PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum one year post anesthesia care unit or min two years of experience in outpatient surgery, Medical/Surgical, ED, or ICU nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period in PACU.
• Assess, communicate patient status with surgeon, physicians and anesthesia providers.
• Document care in the PACU and ensure adherence to standard of care.

Registered Nurse - PACU (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Registered Nurse is a professional who provides patient care based upon the nursing process; being effectively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse shall oversee and guide employees that are under his/her supervision. RN PACU Performs nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post anesthesia period, assessing, communicating patient status with the surgeon, physician and anesthesia providers and documenting care given in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU). Nursing care is specific based on the type of anesthesia administered (general anesthesia or monitored anesthesia) and the procedure or surgery performed (ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedic or pain management). Pediatric and adult patients.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Has a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State
