Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Perioperative Care department in Milwaukee, WI. The role supports aseptic technique, pain management, and patient assessment across rotating shifts in a full-time capacity.

Required Wisconsin RN licensure or multi-state compact license, with ALS and BLS timelines. Diploma in nursing and pediatric life support preferred, with comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing prior to hire, or a multi-state license per compact.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months (180 days) of hire date; accepted from AHA/Red Cross.
• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; accepted from AHA/Red Cross.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to AORN/ASPAN standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain and comfort during perioperative care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
• Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
• Manage patient's pain.
• Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire required.
